Day 31: The Holy Spirit
”But the Helper (or Advocate), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” - John 14:26 (MEV)
It has been said that the GPS is like the Bible and the voice that navigates us while we are driving is like the Holy Spirit. However, unlike the GPS on our phones and in our cars, this GPS always knows exactly where we need to go. Whether there is road work, detours, or traffic, our own personal navigator will never leave us stranded anywhere or confused.
He is our Helper and to be filled with the Spirit means that we are experiencing the Holy Spirit’s gentle guidance and control in our lives. What is your need today? If you are lonely, the Holy Spirit is with you. If you are sad or hurt, the Holy Spirit stands ready to help. If you need an advocate, he is ready to plead your case. And, if your heart is so heavy that you do not know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit will intercede on your behalf with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).
Today the Holy Spirit invites you, saying in effect, “I long for you to develop an intimate relationship with me; I will help you navigate life; I will help you through your challenges ; I will refresh your spirit.”
I know that every one of my needs is known by you Holy Spirit and I receive the comfort, wisdom, and guidance I need to navigate every challenge of my life. Thank you Jesus for not leaving me helpless and hopeless. . I welcome you Holy Spirit, to guide my life in all areas big and small and I open my heart to being taught and reminded of all that is written in God’s Word.
