Day 1: God's Word

“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged [a]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [b]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.” - Hebrews 4:12 (AMP)

Sharper than a two-edged and powerful.  God’s Word has the power within to save a soul, heal disease, and deliver the captive.  When spoken from the mouth of a true believer, it carries authority that God backs up. As a matter of fact, God says, if you declare and decree it, it will be established. (Job 22:28 Amp.)

God has not promised just to do anything we tell him to do in prayer, but He has promised to watch over HIS Word to perform it.  He promises that just like rain and snow come from heaven and water the earth, and don’t return without watering the earth and causing it to bear and sprout, so shall His Word be that goes out of our mouth, it will not return void, but accomplish the purpose it is sent forth to do. (Isaiah 55:11)

The key to answered prayer is to pray in faith, believing that you receive what you ask for when you pray.  To have that kind of confidence in prayer, our prayers must be based on the Word of God which is the will of God.  “And THIS is the confidence we have in prayer, that if we ask God anything according to His will, He hears us, and will grant the petitions we ask for when we pray. (I John 5:14)   There is no greater way to know His will, than to know His Word, and God’s Word in prayer is powerful!

This year, learn to use the Bible as a handbook of prayer, holding God’s promises before Him and watch Him be alert and active, watching over His Word to perform it! (Jeremiah 1:12)

Today, I declare I will live in your Word and this year, your Word will live in me  giving me access to ask in prayer for your will to be done in my life, my family, my church, and my nation. (John 15:7)

I agree with your Word that I will prosper and be in health this year even as I continue to grow and prosper in my soul. (III John 2 AMP)

I pray that I will be filled with the full knowledge of your will, having the eyes of my heart flooded with light by the Holy Spirit, so that I will know the hope to which He has called me, and the riches of His glorious inheritance. (Ephesians 1:17-18 AMP)
