Ministry Of Helps Breakfast 2008
By Rev. Verna Del Turco
It was 9:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008 as hundreds of people excitedly entered the Woburn Hilton Hotel. They were greeted by leaders all decked out in Boston Red Sox attire. Why the Boston Red Sox? Because they are the 2007 World Champions and champion teams should be recognized and celebrated – and that is exactly what we did for Team IFC!
This day was all about honoring the hundreds of volunteers that make IFC function and flow on a daily basis. Some are seen in their serving, but many aren’t ever seen, except by the Lord. He promised that He would reward openly that which was done in secret and this was our opportunity to openly reward and thank everyone for the outstanding service to the Lord and to His people.
As we shared breakfast together, fellowshipped and laughed, there was such an “esprit de corps” that permeated the atmosphere. There were tears of joy and thankfulness, hearty slaps on the back, high fives and a lot a lot of heart-felt “thank-you’s.”
Pastor Jonathan and I want to personally thank each partner who serves in the Ministry of Helps. There is no way IFC could do what it does without all of you. This year we are committed more than ever to experience the great power there is in teamwork and to see the cause of Christ lifted high.
“Two people are better than one because they get more done by working together” (Ecclesiastes 4:8, New Century Version).
